We are the home health care of choice in beautiful Otero County, New Mexico.  For 43 years, Alamogordo Home Health Care and Hospice has strived to deliver the best in home health, hospice, personal care and homemaking services to the residents of Otero County.  We have cared for patients from newborn to 102 years young with skilled care and compassion all while residing in the comfort of their homes.  Our team of health care professionals are committed to ensuring that the care our patients receive is comprehensive and most importantly compassionate.                                                       

Alamogordo Home Health Care & Hospice is veteran owned and a very well-respected local business.  We are partnered with Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center and Forte Health Services.  The majority of our staff have been employed for 5+ years and many 15+ years. This boast consistency and dedication from employees who love what they do.   
Our Hospice is ranked in the "TOP 5% in the nation" by SHP.  It really is a big deal in the industry. Those numbers show that our hospice staff goes the extra mile especially during the most stressful time in any of our lives.  We believe that the patient, family, staff and physician will assure that the plan of care is the best one to meet the needs of the patient.               

Our specialties and programs grow with our patient’s needs (see below.)  Our Wound Care Program is one of the best in the state and our patients healing rate is high, returning them back to life "before the wound" as quickly as possible.  

Services that we offer to our community:

Home Health Skilled Care
~ Experienced RN's and LPN's who will work with your physician to direct your plan of care.
~ Wound Care treatment and monitoring of surgical incisions, pressure ulcers and other types of wounds.
~ Foley Catheter Care
~ IV Therapy for antibiotic therapy hydration, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and biotech/injectable agents
~ Physical Therapy to test and assess your functional limitations
~ Occupational Therapy to increase upper body strength and mobility
~ Speech and Language Therapy to help patients regain speech, swallowing and cognitive activities
~ Home Health Aides to assist in activities of daily living and personal care
~ Medical Social Workers to address emotional and social needs of the patient and caregiver

Hospice Care                                                                                    
Hospice care is a type of health care that focuses on the palliative care of a terminally ill patient's pain and symptoms while attending to their emotional and spiritual needs at the end of life. Hospice care prioritizes comfort and quality of life by reducing pain and suffering.
 
Hospice is more than just treatment for those facing a terminal illness. It’s a philosophy of care.  Our hospice specializes in easing the pain, discomfort, and distress patients experience, whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual by surrounding each patient with a team of professionals. 

Our Hospice staff consists of RN's, Certified Hospice Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplain, Physician, Home Health Aides and many Volunteers. Our Hospice Patient Care Coordinator is Erva Jo Yarborough, RN, BSN, CHPN.  If you have any questions regarding our hospice services or any questions, please call our office. Personal Care Services
~ Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, making beds, changing linens, washing dishes, routine cleaning of person's home
~ Preparing meals
~ Laundry in the home or at a commercial laundromat
~ Performing errands and grocery shopping
~ Transporting and accompanying persons to local medical appointments
~ Assistance in performing personal care activities of daily living

Our mission and commitment is strong. We drive to where the patient is residing and we cover ALL of Otero County including the outlying mountain areas:  Alamogordo, Bent, Boles Acres, Cloudcroft, Dog Canyon, High Rolls, La Luz, Mayhill, Holloman Airforce Base, Orogrande, Pinon, Sacramento, Sunspot, Three Rivers, Timberon, Tularosa, Weed and the White Sands Missile Range.

Alamogordo Home Health & Hospice team of professionals include:  Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Wound Care Nurses, Hospice Certified Nurses, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Workers, Chaplain, Home Health Aides and a great group of Volunteers.
